We set out to make the best mattresses. In Michigan. 

After years of poor sleep because of cheap mattresses and working the corporate grind, we quit our jobs in 2016 and followed our true passion: making the best mattress to help people live better by sleeping better.

We partnered with the best mattress maker in America, who happens to be in Grand Ledge, MI, to handcraft our mattresses, one-at-a-time. We're proud to make our own line-up of mattresses made in Michigan.

Ever since, we've been proudly serving the great folks of the Mitten and beyond, because everyone deserves their best sleep.

Meet Nick

Nick Gillespie has always loved sleep. Growing up outside of Jackson, MI, money was tight and mattresses were old. A new mattress for his 16th birthday made him realize how magical a good night’s Rest could be. 

Nick put himself through the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor by working at a local mattress store, selling the mattresses that changed his life and in 2016, quit his corporate gig to open Rested Pillow.

Meet Allison

Allison Gillespie is from Saginaw, MI and went to Michigan State University. After marrying Nick and having their son, Griffin, the dream to start a business became a reality and Allison put her passion for marketing to work.

After years of leading major brands for big corporations, she left to focus on Rested Pillow. It is a joy to spread the word about their Michigan-made mattresses.

Meet Jenifer

Jenifer is Southwest Michigan born and raised, and is on her 7th year with Rested Pillow as our lead Sales Consultant.

If you think about the typical [pushy, slimy] mattress salesperson, Jen is the opposite. She is as genuine as they come and has one goal: to help you find the best mattress for you.

Meet Dustin

Dustin has been on the Rested Pillow delivery team since 2022 and is from Baroda, MI. When he's not delivering mattresses, he's studying to be an electrical engineer at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Dustin is a veteran of the U.S. Army and we're proud to have him on the team.

Meet Colin

Colin joined Rested Pillow in Fall 2023 and has been an awesome addition to the delivery team. He's originally from Stevensville, MI (proud Lakeshore Lancer alum!) and is currently studying accounting.
