Tufted by Hand
Hand tufting is a time-honored technique dating back to the 17th century, and we're keeping this lost art alive in many of our mattresses because it's still highly functional. Using soft, needle-tufted rosettes made from pure wool, we insert and pull ribbons through the entire mattress, one by one, to bind all the layers together, which pre-compresses the mattress. This radically improves durability, and is a hallmark of quality.
No Corners Cut
Whether it's the eight durable hand sewn handles on our mattresses that many competitors have long since removed to save a buck, or only using heavy duty springs instead of cheap foam on the edges of our mattresses that most others do, we are proud to do it the right way in creating the best mattresses.
Built Like a House
Like the joist on the foundation of a house, our box spring frames have been built for over 40 years with slates placed vertically for extra strength. You'll be hard-pressed to find others who make vertical cross-slat frames! They take too long to make for most, but we know they will last immeasurably longer than traditional box spring frames.
