We make our own exclusive line of mattresses, handcrafted right here in Michigan in partnership with Capitol Bedding, a family-owned maker that’s been building quality beds since 1946. You won’t find our mattresses anywhere else.

We don’t believe in gimmicks or cutting corners. While big mattress chains push low-quality materials, high-pressure sales, and beds designed to wear out in 4–5 years, we do the opposite. Our $799 queen Snoozefest, for example, uses high-density 1.8lb foam - something you rarely see at that price point from national brands. And many of our models include a zipper design, giving you access to the comfort layers. That’s something the big guys would never offer because they want you replacing your bed, not adjusting or refreshing  it.

That’s very flattering, but no, we’re not a franchise. Rested Pillow Mattress was started from scratch in 2016 by Nick and Allison Gillespie, and the St. Joseph, MI showroom is our only showroom. 

Every mattress we sell is our own brand, handcrafted right here in Michigan. You won’t find Rested Pillow mattresses anywhere else.

We do work with customers across the country and ship nationwide for free. Our customizable zipper mattresses make that even easier because of their ability to change firmness and feel from afar.

Choosing a mattress that’s the right firmness for you depends on things like your preferred sleep position, body weight, and personal preference. Generally, side sleepers under 200 lbs prefer our plush mattresses for pressure relief, while back and stomach sleepers or those over 200 lbs often choose something a bit more firm. Each of our mattresses offers different benefits. The Sunny Side Up is our most versatile option with customizable comfort layers, so it’s perfect if you're not sure what you prefer and you can adapt it as your needs change. The Pretty Green uses all-natural materials and is ideal for hot sleepers who want breathability. The Sleeping Bear provides hotel-quality comfort with excellent motion isolation for couples. Our mattresses are designed with proper spinal alignment in mind. The individually wrapped pocket coils in our hybrid models provide targeted support where you need it most, while our comfort layers relieve pressure points. Many customers tell us (in person and through reviews!) their pain improved after switching to a Rested Pillow mattress. However, a mattress can only do so much, and if you have chronic pain, we always recommend consulting your healthcare provider before investing in a new mattress.

Not at all. We use breathable materials like natural latex and organic cotton that allow airflow, unlike all-foam mattresses that trap heat. Our pocket coil systems also promote air circulation throughout the mattress with edge-to-edge coils (not padded around the edges with cheap foams that trap heat). 

The Pretty Green and Sunny Side Up models are particularly great for hot sleepers, and several of our models include gel cooling foam for even more temperature regulation.

Our hybrid mattresses with individually wrapped pocket coils are designed to isolate motion and help with motion transfer. When your partner moves, each coil responds independently, so you won't feel the movement on your side of the bed.

Yes. We use CertiPUR-US certified foams that are free from harmful chemicals, and our natural materials like organic cotton and latex are naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. We avoid the synthetic materials and chemical treatments that can trigger sensitivities.

Caring for your Rested Pillow mattress is straightforward. Use a proper foundation with rigid slats no more than 3 to 4 inches apart, rotate your mattress every 3 to 6 months to prevent sagging, and use a breathable, waterproof mattress protector. Our flippable mattress models like the Way We Were should be flipped as well as rotated.

Most of our mattresses should be rotated every 3-6 months.  An easy way to remember is if you do it when the seasons change or when you change your clocks. Our Way We Were model is two-sided and should be flipped to help maintain firmness, prevent sagging, and extend the lifespan of your mattress.

We highly recommend a quality waterproof mattress protector (and require it for our Comfort Guarantee) that guards against spills, accidents, stains, and allergens. It's a small investment that protects your larger one.

Your mattress needs proper support to perform at its best and maintain warranty coverage. We recommend a new, sturdy foundation with slats no more than 3 to 4  inches apart, a solid platform, or an adjustable base. Using old box springs or foundations with gaps larger than 4 inches will void warranty coverage. If you're unsure about your current setup, just ask; we're happy to help.

Most of our mattresses are compatible with adjustable bases, sometimes known as motion box springs. All of our hybrid or foam mattresses are safe to put on an existing adjustable base or a new one from us. The only mattresses that don’t work with adjustable bases are those with traditional innersprings (like grandma’s spring bed).

Yes, we stock many of our best-selling mattresses and foundations - ready for fast local delivery or pick-up from our St. Joseph, MI showroom - by making them in advance and housing them in our showroom. 

Specialty mattresses, custom sized mattresses, and  most mattresses ordered online are made-to-order and require 2-4 weeks to be made by hand.

If your mattress is not in stock, when you order, our trusted partners at Capitol Bedding in Michigan begin handcrafting your specific mattress. This typically takes 2-3 weeks, depending on the model. Then, it’s either brought to our showroom for local delivery to you, or  it's shipped directly to you via FedEx, usually arriving within 2-5 days. This approach ensures every mattress gets the attention and quality control it deserves.

We pride ourselves on truly having something for most everyone, while maintaining quality and integrity. Our mattresses range from $299 to $4,599, depending on size and model. We use premium materials, handcraft each mattress in Michigan, and build them to go this distance, not just a few years.

Our mattresses are handcrafted in Michigan using better materials, and we price them fairly from the start. That way, you can take your time, make the right decision, and never feel rushed by a “sale” countdown or pressured into choosing a mattress just because it’s temporarily cheaper.

Since we often begin handcrafting your mattress as soon as you order, changes aren’t always possible once production starts. If you do need to make changes, please contact us immediately. Although we’ll do our best to accommodate you, we can’t make any promises.

Yes. Though not listed on our website, we sell rigid, upholstered foundations (aka box springs) in various heights. When you buy a new mattress, you should buy a new foundation so that your mattress has a sturdy foundation and will perform as intended. Just like when you build a new house, you wouldn’t build it on an old foundation…the same goes for your mattress.

Yes. We have all of the bedding essentials you’ll want to complete your sleep system, from our Signature Latex pillow, to luxurious sheets and waterproof mattress protectors. If what you’re looking for is not shown on our website, there is a good chance we have it in our showroom or can get it for you.

Yes, our mattresses ship, for free, throughout the United States safely compressed and rolled into a box.  For local Michigan deliveries, our own team often handles delivery personally. For other areas, we work with trusted white glove delivery partners who can bring your mattress inside and even set it up in your bedroom.

Our local white glove delivery service includes bringing your mattress and foundation  into your home, installing it in your bedroom, and removing associated trash. We can also remove your old mattress for an additional fee. 

We’ll either set up delivery at time of purchase or contact you to schedule a convenient time once your mattress has been made. Note, we do not install furniture, so make sure if you have a new bed to have it assembled before we arrive.

We’ll ship or drop off to your door for free. For local Michigan deliveries within 15 miles of our shop, we offer free delivery to your door. For all other deliveries, we’ll safely compress and roll your mattress into a box and ship to your door via FedEx.  

Yes. For local customers, as long as your mattress is free of stains, we will haul away and dispose of it for $10 per piece. If you buy a new mattress and foundation from us (2 pieces), we will haul away up to 2 pieces. Note we don’t dispose of furniture or other items and are not responsible for items once they are picked up.

We have a 100-Night Comfort Guarantee that allows one exchange if your mattress isn't quite right, visit our Exchanges & Returns page for more information. For our customizable mattresses like Sunny Side Up, you can exchange the comfort layer. For other models, you can exchange for a different mattress of equal value. We do not offer trials or refunds.

We want you to truly love your new mattress, and our 100-Night Comfort Guarantee is designed to give you peace of mind, without the pressure.

Because it can take time for your body to adjust to any new mattress, we ask that you sleep on it for at least 21 nights before deciding to make a change. If you're still not comfortable, you can initiate a one-time comfort adjustment anytime within the first 100 nights after delivery.

If you purchased one of our customizable mattresses with a zipper, you’re eligible for a one-time exchange of the top 3" comfort layer (foam or latex) for a different feel of the same size. Simply return the original layer in clean, undamaged condition, and we’ll get you a new one. We do not offer refunds on mattresses, but this comfort layer swap gives you flexibility if the feel isn’t quite right.

For our non-customizable, traditional mattresses without a zipper, we offer a one-time exchange for a different mattress of the same size and equal value. If you'd like to upgrade to a more expensive model, you’ll just pay the difference. Please note that we don't offer refunds for selecting a mattress of lesser value, and no refunds are offered on mattresses overall.

If you'd like us to handle the delivery of your exchange mattress, there is a $199 re-delivery fee for homes within 15 miles of our store. For locations beyond that, we’ll calculate the delivery fee based on distance.

Our mattresses are  backed by our manufacturer, Capitol Bedding, with a limited warranty  against defects in workmanship and materials when facilitated through us.

The warranty covers sagging greater than 1.5 inches and construction flaws. The warranty doesn't cover normal wear, stains, or damage from improper use or foundations. You must use a proper foundation and mattress protector to maintain warranty coverage.

If you feel a warranty claim is appropriate after reading our Warranty overview, fill out the form on the warranty page and  email pictures documenting the defect to hello@restedpillow.com. We'll review your claim with our manufacturer and respond within 7 business days.
